I took this photo with the intention of the telling story of how I was having to put the heat on in the car about halfway, and wondering how long it would be before the heat had to go up full bore. As I looked at the photo on the phone afterwards though, the first thing that struck me was that the half-circle temperature indicator looked a bit like a smile and the dial itself could pass as a nose — so I flipped the image upside down. And then I discovered that one of my photo apps has a stamp option, and that one of the stamp sets included various pairs of eyes. It was all too easy in the end, and for a bit of frivolity, the photo turned out okay. Different from my plan when I shot it of course, but throughout this project I’ve been perfectly happy to go with the flow and find other ways to use an image. Why stop now? Ha!
