Now that I work in an office without a direct outside view (I have to crane my neck to catch a glimpse of the world outdoors) I was completely unaware of an approaching storm late this afternoon until it was right on top of us. Then I heard a crack of thunder and the power went off momentarily. I got up and looked through another office window and it was like night time outside and the rain was just driving down. About an hour or so later it was time to head for home, and the normally bone-dry culvert at the rear of our office building had quite the torrent running through it. It really is amazing how much water can collect in a short period of time.
