We had two birthday parties today — Stan’s 70th (see last Sunday’s photo) and niece Emily’s 5th birthday celebration. Emily’s was held at the Louisville Equestrian Center, and all the kids got to ride horses as they were led around a large enclosed area. And they did the horsey version of a pinata, where the kids had to sift through a pile of hay to find wrapped candy hidden inside. The next activity involved hand painting an actual horse — literally. The kids dipped their hands into a tray of paint and were invited to walk over to a horse and leave their handprint on its flanks, legs and stomach. Before the kids got into the paint, I got a shot of the swirls of color in the tray, and then used a new app (the oddly named Kyoobik) to create this 60’s Flower-Power-esque image.
